Brunch at Loom

This is going to be the first post in a series on some of my favorite brunch spots.  Hope you guys will enjoy this series and that it might encourage you to try some new places.  I personally love brunch and think it should be a mandatory daily meal, so if you’re the same we can definitely be brunch buddies.

The first restaurant I decided to feature in this series is my most recent brunch visit at Loom in downtown Macon inside the Hotel 45.  You can find my other recent post on dinner at Loom here too Dinner at Loom. As I mentioned in that post, Loom is now one of my favorite restaurants in middle Georgia because the quality of the food is EVERYTHING.  I’m a huge fan of good quality food because if I eat out somewhere I want it to be a memorable, awe-inspiring, mouth-watering experience. Otherwise, I’d just eat at home.  So far Loom has always provided a unique experience for me.

Me(to the left)& Amber ( on the right

As usual, me and the bestie (Amber) met up on a Sunday morning, or rather afternoon because she knows I only wake up after eleven on Sundays.  When we entered it was definitely more packed than when we had dinner the week before.  Brunch is obviously popular on Sunday’s at Loom.

Mimosa

We were sat at a booth in the back with a view of the city auditorium out of the window in front.  We both ordered a mimosa to drink.  No, we did not do the bottomless mimosas.   That’s a story for another brunch post later in the series, let’s just say one mimosa is enough for both of us.

Our waitress at the last dinner had recommended the French Toast, so I already knew that’s what I was going with because I love a good French Toast!  However, I was torn between one of the omelets and the French toast.  Amber had already decided on the Bacon Omelet, so when our waitress turned to me I panicked and let hunger take over.  I told her I wanted the Veggie Omelet AND the French Toast!  Let me explain my decision, basically the prices are not bad and I’d just gotten paid that week so I figured why not splurge on two meals. Plus, I made Amber eat some of my French toast with me.

I was surprised at how big the French toast was. It’s four large pieces of perfectly cooked toast, not too soggy and not too crunchy. There is no way to explain how good that French Toast was.  It was the Challah French Toast which was covered in a berry compote/jelly and served with maple syrup and a cinnamon-pecan butter.  The toast had so much flavor without being overly sweet.  The berry compote was a bit much and should have come on the side, but with a little bit of scraping I was able to enjoy it.  I gave their French toast a 10/10 and was the best I’ve ever had, if I dare to say.  Trust me because I’m a French toast expert.

The veggie omelet was light and filling but could’ve used something extra to make it stand out more.  What I loved about it was that it tasted super fresh, and I’ll take that over having something loaded with ingredients and low quality.  I think next time I would try the bacon omelet that Amber had as it looked more flavorful, but I was trying to be slightly healthy since I ordered two meals that day.

We were stuffed by the end, and I can’t wait to head back to try the Loom Benedict (Crusty Bread, Fried Green Tomato, Country Ham, Poached eggs, Charon Sauce) that I’ve heard about.  Lastly, I have to commend how amazing the service always is.  Both waitresses we’ve had were extremely nice and helpful with any questions we had and that definitely makes a place for me.
