Frappes and Beignets

I saw a Facebook post recently that said “Do people still actually eat 3 meals a day or do we all just survive off of stress & iced coffee.”

In my case yes, I’m definitely only surviving off of coffee now.  Which means I’m always in search of a new place to get coffee or a chai.  After a dry spell of not finding any new spots, I finally came across one recently. It’s called Caffe Vignette.

It’s a really cute and tiny drive-thru cafe located off of Sandy Pointe Drive in Bonaire, Ga. It’s so small that I actually drove past it on my way there and had to do a bit of searching before I laid eyes on it next to Hardee’s.  It looks a little out of place between fast-food restaurants and service stations with its cottage-like brick exterior, intricate driveway, and elegant water fountain.  For me, it was a blessing in disguise because I’d been craving a S’mores Frap ever since Starbucks discontinued theirs.

I’d already known what I was going to order after browsing through the menu online beforehand.  They had me with the S’mores Frappe.   I loved Starbucks’ S’mores Frappuccino, but I have to say Caffe Vignette’s frappe may have them beat.  I was in love after the first sip.  The S’mores Frappe is a mix of toasted marshmallow syrup, chocolate syrup, and crumbled cookies topped with whipped cream.  When you think it couldn’t get any better, they also put actual toasted chocolate-filled marshmallows on a stick to top it off.

To snack on they have freshly baked beignets.  You literally get them hot and fresh out of the fryer and sprinkled with plenty of powdered sugar.  It doesn’t end there, the beignets also come with the choice of 4 different types of whipped butter or 3 different types of dipping sauce.  I always go for the chocolate because I’m obsessed with chocolate.  Literal tears nearly came to my eyes when I opened the bag for the first time and saw how amazing they looked.  You get the chance to order 3 or a dozen if you’re sharing - or not.

One thing I wish they had was more outdoor seating, mainly because it would make for great pictures next to the fountain holding beignets.  They’re definitely gonna be my new obsession because I have to try all of the chai latte flavors (honey nut chai, vanilla chai, German chocolate chai, Georgia Peach Cobbler Chai, etc…).  If you want to check out their menu click the button below.
