My Favorite Youtube Workouts to Get a Revenge Body
In this post I wanted to share some of my favorite YouTube workout videos and YouTube fitness influencers who helped me stay fit through the many Covid quarantines and continue to give me workout inspo. These were great workouts for me as a beginner getting back into shape, and they were super fun and easy to do at home. If you also got into the home fitness mania then you’ve probably heard of some of these names and tried some of their workouts.
Early 2020 - Covid hit, and I suddenly found myself not able to attend my college gym or go to my weekly yoga sessions. Like everyone else, I had to clear a tiny space in my room between my bed and tv and find someone on YouTube to follow along to. At the time things were really rough because I was dealing with exhaustion from school, health problems, and moving on from toxic people. So naturally exercise became my escape from the stress of everything going on and a way to take out my frustrations.
Over 6 months I consistently followed these Youtube workout videos and I started to notice a change. I’d achieved revenge body status and it was amazing! I hadn’t felt energy like that since I was like 12 and my confidence got a huge boost. Besides that, I had abs for the first time in my life, my calves were toned, and I could actually do a few push ups. I can also honestly say it was a very happy time in my life.
The videos were mostly easy to follow and there were many to choose from if you got bored. I will warn that some of these Youtube fitness influencers promise results within a few weeks of doing their fitness plans, but obviously this is not true for most people. As I said it took 6 months to see actual results, so it will most likely take you nearly that long. Don’t fret because the results will happen if you're consistent and make it a part of your life. Although I have gone back to gym workouts, I love having the option of being able to do workouts at home when I can’t make it to the gym.
Chloe Ting
I had to start with Chloe Ting. One, because she’s one of the most popular fitness Youtubers on the planet. Two, she’s the reason I started my at home fitness regime. I saw an article on the Daily Mail promoting her 2-week shredded abs challenges. I thought, “O.M.G. I can have abs in 2 weeks?!” Of course, I knew this was impossible, but there were so many videos out there of people showing before and after results that I had to see if the hype was true for myself.
The 30-something Australian became uber-famous during Covid and now has hundreds of millions of followers and viewers to her YouTube channel. She makes her videos with her partner Adrian who does video production, and her 2-week programs are 14 days of 2-4 videos a day. Now it’s important to note that like many online fitness experts - she is NOT a professional trainer. She’s actually an actuarial analyst turned fitness pro. However, I found her videos very helpful as a beginner and she gives low-impact alternatives to most of her exercises.
I like to pick a 10 minute video for 2-3 different body areas on her channel. If I pick three 10 minute videos - one for arms, one for glutes, and one for abs - that’s a 30 minute full body workout. I will warn you that starting out it takes some time to get through one video because Chloe does not play. I was on the floor sweating and nearly crying the first week of trying her videos. So don’t be too hard on yourself as you will get better with time and practice.
Pamela Reif
I found Pamela Reif a few months ago by my Youtube recommended page. I love her ab routines, but I will say they are a killer.
The 25 yr old German influencer turned entrepreneur has actually been around awhile. She jumped to fame as a teenager posting her fitness lifestyle to instagtram. Now she’s one of Germanys most influential fitness youtubers after making deals with advertisers and sponsors. She’s even made Forbes and has her own online fitness program Pamstrong. Her body is a testament to how well her workouts are.
It takes time to get her ab workouts down, but I promise you’ll be feeling the burn 2 minutes in. Her HIIT workout is really fun and a great pump, but I definitely recommend taking a few more breaks than she gives. Just remember, if I got through it you can too!
Alexis REN
Alexis Ren is a social media influencer, model, actress, and Dancing with the Stars Contestant. Not only that, but she also posts fitness workouts to Youtube. My favorite workout by her is the 10-min ab workout. It’s not too easy and not too difficult. I will have to try out her other workout videos soon to get a better idea of how she organizes her routines. Also to be noted, Alexis Ren is also not a certified fitness instructor.
This video consists of 20 exercises for 30 seconds each with no breaks. Just breathe through the pain ok ;)
Are these Youtube workout routines worth the hype? Yes and no. Yes, because I am proof that they work with consistency and a lot of effort. However, I have not actually known anyone to achieve the exaggerated results that they promise within a few weeks. Give it a few months, tough it out, and you’ll get that “revenge body” before you know it!
